MIT'south Section of Economics and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) designed the MicroMasters® programme credential in Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP) to equip learners with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing developing countries and the world's poor. Through a series of six online courses and proctored exams, learners will gain a potent foundation in microeconomics, development economics, and probability and statistics, while engaging with cutting-edge research in the field.

The program is unique in its focus on designing and running randomized evaluations to assess the effectiveness of social programs and its accent on easily-on skills in data analysis. The methodologies for alleviating global poverty covered in these courses are taught by Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee, winners of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences and pioneers in the field of development economic science.

To earn the DEDP MicroMasters program credential, learners complete iii core courses (Microeconomics, Information Assay for Social Scientists, and Designing and Running Randomized Evaluations) and 2 of iii electives (The Challenges of Global Poverty, Foundations of Development Policy, and Political Economy and Economic Development) online and laissez passer their respective proctored exams on MITx Online. The five courses can be taken in whatsoever sequence, and the curriculum gives learners the flexibility to choose which electives they accept. Learners who receive the MicroMasters plan credential volition then exist eligible to apply to MIT's new Master's program in Data, Economics, and Evolution Policy. How the DEDP MicroMasters Plan works

Pricing
